Why is housekeeping a good job/career path?
When I took Hotel Management in college, my teacher said that you can move up to executive in housekeeping very quickly. So it’s a great way to move up in the hotel industry.
It’s one of the harder and unappreciated jobs at a hotel, but it pays better than retail.
Hotels can offer more stability hours-wise and benefits wise.
You move around all day which is healthier than sitting at a desk all day. It gets the blood flowing.
You get cash tips in some rooms. 🙂
Personally, I find room cleaning to be relaxing and I often go for that as a job when I’m feeling burnt out from customer service.
